Teenage
2009-02-23 02:58:00 Capturing the essence of a period in time when you´re no longer a child but not yet grown up either. The photos are as much a document of the late 70s and early 80s as it is timeless in it´s portrayal of adolescence. Hanging around with your friends; discovering new feelings; trying to break free; this is what it was/is like to be a teenager.JosephSzaboPhotoeyebookstore
Memories of laughter
2009-02-23 02:58:00 A brother and a sister who made the beach (with its white soft sand that always felt so nice to trickle trough one´s fingers) their second home. When the late afternoon turned into early evening and dinner awaited, their mum and their aunt´s and cousin´s called for them, but they didn´t answer, they searched for them, but they couldn´t find them. Until they heard the sound of childrens giggles exploding into that kind of laughter that makes your eyes tear and your stomach hurt. The siblings had gone away on a treasurehunt and now they came back with a silly old sock that someone once had left behind, not much of a treasure but for them it was just another reason to laugh and laugh and laugh...
A secret hideaway
2009-02-23 02:58:00 sublackwell"The Secret Garden was what Mary called it when she was thinking of it. She liked the name, and she liked still more the feeling that when it´s beautiful old walls shut her in no one knew where she was. It seemed almost like being shut out of the world in some fairy place."

Chloé 4-ever
2009-02-13 02:47:00 Spring 2009Romantic, feminine and always capturing that certain chloéesque ambience. The Chloé ads are something else. I admit that I am a Chloé/Phoebe Philo girl at heart, I´ve never loved fashion so much as during her time there and with the latest collection my love for all things Chloé has awaken again. Maybe not surprising since Hanna McGibbon who joined Chloé to work with Philo in 2001, is the new creative director. I looked through some different campaigns, since I have several prints saved and they are all so georgeous. Often with a sensation of the sophisticated and elegant side of the seventies, a little bit retro but not over the top. The lighting and the soft focus also sets them apart, together with the models who always seems to be the perfect fit for each campaign.Spring 2007Spring 2006Fall 2005Spring 2005Fall 2004Spring 2004Fall 2003Spring 2002
In the treehouse
2009-02-13 02:47:00 Somewhere high up among the treetops, the branches surrounding me, housing small birds that sing the sweetest melodies. In my dreams I made it my home, I always sought refuge and solitude in this secret place where the walls and the floor gently rocks me to sleep. I breath with the tree, fresh air filling my lungs, living with nature. Depending on it. It´s an adventure, a childs ultimate fantasy to live in this wonderland that symbolises freedom and playfullnes. As an eternal romantic, this is my Shangri-la.ThreehousechroniclesBambotreehouseTreehou sebydesignFenetresurlacourThetreehouseboo k
Down the rabbithole

And contrary wise, what is, it wouldn´t be. And what it wouldn´t be, it would. You see?""But then, shall I never get any older than I am now? That´ll be an comfort, one way- never to be an old woman- but then- always to have lessons to learn!""But it´s no use going back to yesterday, because I was a different person then."
In the world of Taschen...
2009-02-13 02:47:00 beautiful books are made that are also accessable, affordable and available for everyone. The variety is wide from the Icon and Basic artseries to the not so affordable but ridiculously expensive Muhammed Ali tribute GOAT and the Helmut Newton retrospective Sumo. I can certainly thank Taschen for the big collection of art, photography and lifestylebooks that I have at home. They are celebrating their 25th anniversary this year with great offers, so go buy a new book!( And they are opening their 7th flagshipstore in Copenhagen, great for us who live in the area anyway.)
Kate: The Kate Moss Book
2009-02-13 02:47:00 A great photobook that shows pictures of Kate Moss up until 1995. Many photos of Kate´s earliest work with Corinne Day, the ones that started her career.
It´s in the genes
2009-02-13 02:47:00 Gia has style, talent and a creative mind not unlike the other members of the Coppola clan. She´s the niece of Sofia, and she takes after her in her sweet and subtle style, the daughter of Jacqui de la Fontaine-Getty and the late Gian-Carlo Coppola, and the granddaughter of Francis Ford Coppola and Eleanor. She´s a photographer and she has appeared in a lot of Coppola photos, films and videos. On the right is a photo of her in the A.P.C. FW09 campaign. Below are photos taken by her, I think I can see a bit of Sofia in them, no surprise! theskullset1 theskullset2

Love on the left bank
2009-02-12 16:46:00 Love on the left bank by the dutch potographer Ed van der Elsken is a story caught on film about the young bohemians, artist and writers that during the 50´s made the left bank in Paris their home. Ann, the maincharacter (based on the artist Vali Myers) and the people around her are followed and moments in their lives are captured in a documentary style.
I dreamed it was spring (it was beautiful)
2009-02-12 13:34:00 I can hardly wait any longer for the sunshine to come back and for warmer days spent outside. In the meantime I´ll be dreaming about these gorgeous clothes. The Chloé girl is back in lots of pastels, nudes, apricot, bluebell and rich green, and she is as fresh as a beautiful summersday. Come spring and I´ll be wearing highwasted shorts, dresses and loose trousers with feminine details like bowbelts, ruffles and scallopcut edges.I adore this wicked, lolitaesque fairytale with ballerinas in cork platforms, crinolines and lacedresses.I´ve simply fallen in love with these pleated skirts, suits and oversized trousers, all in black.ChloéCharles AnastaseLimi Feu
"I´m not perfect, but I´m perfect for you"
2009-01-15 16:53:00 "If you´re out there you´re vulnerable. People prefer to disappear in life, to repress their personality. That´s not living. It´s dying. I see them all over the place, the walking dead."Grace Jones Style.com
Moments captured in my mind
2009-01-15 00:30:00 Summer went by so fast this year (doesn´t it always) and winter seems endless. I was not made for this cold, damp climate. My body aches, I hurt inside but I know I will endure. What I long for is waiting for me behind the corner, waiting to embrace me with it´s warmth and beauty. Until then my memories keep me warm.
I listened to the radio...
2009-01-10 15:01:00 and Vanessa Paradis was singing her song. I found myself being transfered back in time to my childhood where I used to love that exact same song. Now the time has passed and we have entered adulthood. Vanessa still sings, acts, models etc., whenever she´s not with Johnny and the kids. And I still listen to her voice and sing along.
2009-01-09 23:55:00 GarancedoreTFSVogue Paris may 2008 By Terry RichardsonVogueParis may 2008 by Mario SorrentiItalian Vogue Dec 2008 by Bruce WeberIf you read fashionmagazines- and blogs you probably know that Lara Stone is a favorite with Carine Roitfeld ("Sometimes a girl just touches you", she said about her) and that the february Vogue Paris issue is dedicated to Lara. I love looking at photos of Lara, her face has a brutal yet soft beauty to it. Beauty for me isn´t perfection, universal beauty exists but the kind of beauty that lingers is subjective. The little imperfections like a gap between your teeths and freckles stand out and make someone more interesting to look at. French Vogue is one of my favorites among fashionmags, I don´t buy it very often because it´s rather expensive where I live, but I will be sure to get a hand on the february copy!Vogue Paris feb 2009 via TFS

Mad about bread and chocolate
2008-12-10 12:52:00 I´m passionate about bread and chocolate. The taste and the sensation of eating a freshly baked bread with a golden crust or letting a silky piece of chocolate melt on your tongue is truly one of lifes small subjects of joy. This weekend I made speltbuns with chopped almonds and gojiberries. I also added the traditional breadspices fennel, cummin and anise. On top I sprinkled some pumpkin- and sunflowerseeds. Really yummy if I may say so myself!Yesterday I hosted a small glöggsoiree (the swedish equivalence of mulled wine) and along with the obligatory gingerbreads I served some delicious seasonal chocolate. I had some 72% Michel Cluizel chocolate at home that I decided to melt, I then added some chopped almonds, walnuts, pistachios, vanilla and gingerbreadspices (cinnamon, ginger, cardamom, cloves). Success!
So Alice in Wonderland
Mer artiklar från denna bloggen:2008-05-27 12:13:00 I love the blog Cherryblossomgirl by the sweet parisian girl Alix. Through her I discovered the amazing jewelrys at TheFrenchFactory. I´ve spent quite a lot of time dreaming about these amazing pieces, they are so adorable, fairytalelike and special. Just what I like! I´v e come to associate them with the blogger above though, cause they fit so well with her style and the romantic wonderland she has created. I always get inspired by visiting her blog, like many others with me, no doubt. 1-30, 31-60, 61-90 |
