Young Heretics
2009-04-25 12:26:00
Maybe it's the wrong timing to post this now? It feels like it can make a agonizing hangover even heavier, but that doesn't stop it from sounds great. Melbourne duo Young Heretics. This is fresh stuff, so fresh that their MySpace doesn't even show a title for this track. But it's called The Lost Loves, and look out for more from these two.Young Heretics - The Lost LovesFrom: Welikeit.indie
GRUM
2009-04-24 09:00:00
Young producer Grum from Leeds is back with a new remix for our favourites Friendly Fires. Last spring he also released Go Back and this remix by Castle Vania is crazy good. To top it off we give you his latest own release called Runaway. Enjoy.Friendly Fires - Skeleton Boy (Grum Remix)Grum - Go Back (Le Castle Vania Remix)Grum - Runaway
The Muscle Club
2009-04-23 20:44:00
If The Strokes would have reigned out of the UK, with a touch of Brit-pop, they would probably sound a lot like The Muscle Club. They just finished their first UK tour, but hopefully they will be out and about again, and go beyond the UK, as soon as the summer begins! The Muscle Club - Damn These CircumstancesThe Muscle Club - Making Bets With StrangersFrom: Welikeit.indie
Greenpeace for Earth Day
2009-04-23 16:51:00
Personally I'm a bit skeptical to how Greenpeace work and the methods they use. It's almost like a feminist movement working for a matriarchal society, instead of equality between the sexes. Extremists will never (I hope) reach out to the majority of a sensible people, and reaching out to the broad masses and raise awareness about environmental issues must be what the Greenpeace idea is fundamentally about?Below is a clip they did for Earth Day, and other than them portraying themselves as martyrs, it contains plenty of good and thought-provoking clips from around the world.

The Sounds are back
2009-04-22 15:08:00
The Sounds of Helsingborg, Sweden are back. Along with their third album coming out now, they have a steady tour schedule ahead with gigs in both North America and Europe. Their sound (ugh, no pun intended...) is perhaps not surprising, but still good and a little studio dirty. Here is Dorchester Hotel! The Sounds - Dorchester HotelFrom: Welikeit.indie
Virgins, Virgins, Virgins
2009-04-22 11:27:00
A little while back we posted Le Castle Vania's remix of Rich Girls by New Yorkers The Virgins, which is one of the better tracks out so far this year. A Little Boots cover of the song surfaced this week, and, as always when that girl is at it, it's really worth a listen! In addition to that The Shoes, who got some attention here for their Candy Clash remix, did a remix of The Virgins' Teen Lovers. And hey, why not throw in the video for the two originals?!Don't forget to visit sharethevirgins.com to listen to more tracks and win prizes!Little Boots - Rich Boys (The Virgins cover)The Virgins - Teen Lovers (The Shoes Remix)From: Welikeit.indie
Airys - Vedo In Te
2009-04-22 09:07:00
Italian music of the electronic persuasion is sometimes borderline tacky and trancy, but sometimes our dear friends in the South get it so, so right. One example of this is Milano donna Airys, and her track Vedo In Te. Here it remixed by two other Italians, Venice and Peluche.Airys - Vedo In Te (Venice Remix)Airys - Vedo In Te (Peluche Re-work)From: Welikeit.indie
A chilled out Electric Feel
2009-04-21 09:24:00
I said ouuu girl! Electric Feel hasn't passed anyone unnoticed, and this sexed up, chilled down version of the MGMT hit by Cleast Eatwood is perfect for that lazy summer day in the sun. Don't you just love that more and more of songs in that category keep popping up now? A true sign that the summer is near!Cleast Eatwood - Electric Feel (MGMT Cover)From: Welikeit.indie
Jason Thielke
2009-04-20 21:13:00
Jason Thielke describes his art like this "the art focuses on urban landscapes and their inhabitants. A strong emotional connection to the built environment and its inevitable rise and fall provide the foundation for his work." I haven't quite decided what I think yet, I find his technique very interesting but somehow it does not seem like the pieces are quite done yet...
Let's get some Mexican
2009-04-20 00:18:00
Ay caramba! I'm pretty sure I can count the number of Mexican artists or groups that I know of on one hand, so when I came across this one it was a nice little surprise. They have supposedly sampled You Know My Name by The Beatles, and it really works out well.discoRuido - Mrs. LoveFrom: Welikeit.indie

Chiddy Banging it again!
2009-04-19 16:58:00
Philly group Chiddy Bang's rework of the becoming classic Kids by MGMT, that we posted here last week, is gonna be played on repeat this summer. Now they're back, already, with more of the same medicine, this time sampling Kid Cudi's hit Day & Night. Listen and love!Kid Cudi - Day & Night (Chiddy Bang Rework)From: Welikeit.indie
Neon Indian
2009-04-19 00:30:00
As I was checking through BIGSTEREO I found this goodie, and I don't think I could ever describe the sound better than Travis did: "Deadbeat Summer sounds like a MGMT record warped in the sun and played at the wrong rpm". Word.Neon Indian - Deadbeat Summer

Little Red Riding Hood 2.0
2009-04-13 14:31:00
Have you, like me, not had this story told to you since you were around five? Well, here it is, in a 2009 redux version by Tomas Nilsson, with a slightly more analytical and scientific approach to the traditional story of the Little Red Riding Hood. The track is called "Sponsored By Destiny" by Slagsmålsklubben. From: Lost At E Minor

We Own The Sky
2009-04-12 18:59:00
We made a post with M83 a while back with their great song Kim & Jessy. I just found this video which is totally different but oh so beautifully made, the song it self is great as well.
Berlin street concert with The Whitest Boy Alive
2009-04-08 00:32:00
You gotta love street concerts. Whether it's a house gig in Paris or an Eros Ramasotti concert at the Colosseum, there's always something special to it compared to a normal concert, or listening to the album for that matter. The Whitest Boy Alive, one of our absolute faves here, had their own little version of the concept in Berlin, playing the song 1517 from their latest album "Rules" from a store (?) out to quite a large crowd of appreciative fans. Erlend Øye's voice really is one of a kind, and suits the sound so perfectly.
Chiddy Bang sampling Kids!
2009-04-07 16:51:00
Okay, so in the oceans of Kids-remixes we've heard since MGMT's 2007 album Oracular Spectacular came out, I can't really recall hearing a good hiphop remix of it. We're not gonna get one now either, per se, but Philadelphia group Chiddy Bang have at least sampled one of 2008's best songs in a nice way that's got a nice summer vibe to it. Have a listen, will ya?!From: Welikeit.indieChiddy Bang feat. MGMT - Kids
