I have tested all my templates with three different mobile phones and five different browsers, and the content in each template is completely readable even though there are a number of not-so-pretty design glitches caused by some browsers rendering of the CSS. But the mobile internet has always been separated from the real thing, mostly because of the limitations that small screens create - and by bandwidth. I have seen several attempts at handling mobile pages differently by reducing bandwidth use and manipulating the look of the content so that it works well with smaller screens. I would prefer to see all websites use valid XHTML and let the mobile internet just be a scaled-down version of the real thing - but...

Software Freedom Day i Helsingborg
2007-09-15 18:37:00 I brist på bra alternativ drog vi i MöLUG upp till Helsingborg för att träffa Tux som enligt ryckte skulle göra gatorna osäkra för windowsanvändare. Men när vi kom fram hittade vi ingen Tux, eller några andra Linux användare. Då vi i MöLUG är handlingen män beslutade vi oss för att äta lite kinesiskt efter att ha vandrat runt i Helsingborg planlöst. Mätta och belåtna gav vi oss ut på gatan igen för att se om Tux var ute och röjde nu, men ack. MöLUG gänget Vi beslutade att sprida lite värme och minska frustationen bland några virus drabbade windows användare innan vi skulle åka hem, vilket var tur då vi stötte på några "locales". Vad vi hoppas på är att få lite CD/DVD skivor från det snälla folket på RedHat eller Novell. Ubuntu är tyvärr uteslutet eftersom de vill ha betalt på CD-skiva och vår budget är begränsad. Det hade även varit trevligt med något som visar vilka vi är, tex t-tröjor eller kepsar. Om vi lyckas få tag på något att dela ut ska vi försöka stå på stadsbiblioteket i Lund. Och med lite tur kanske vi lyckas locka dit någon tidning, men vi har mindre än en månad på oss att planera något. //Fredrik
