Theme variations and sponsorships

One of the things I have planned for a long time that will be launched at the same time as the new design (tomorrow, always this tomorrow…) will be theme variations. Pre-created customized versions of the themes, based on common requests from users and other designers. For example, a lot of people have asked me for Swedish versions of my themes, so translations are ready to be released. And others have asked for wider versions of the WP-Andreas00 and WP-Andreas01 themes for Word Press , and I will provide that as well. Each theme will get its own page, where all these custom versions (and other modifications) will be listed with direct download links. Want a light version of Daleri Dark? Or a 3-column version of 1024px? If the demand is big, I will create it and add it to the list. What kind of variations would you like to see to the themes in the future? WP-theme: Daleri Dark

Here is the first new release in a long time. The first Word Press theme in the new "Daleri" design series has now been released, and it was given the name Daleri Dark. Please note that it is not the final release. The theme is still in an early stage of development, and it will be updated with both new features and other changes as soon as I have got some feedback on it. Don't expect it to be good, and please keep in mind that it has a couple of experimental features that you need to use with care. But feel free to play around with it, try different things and let me know if you find something useful that I can add to the theme! And whatever you do, don't judge the new template series from this first theme. It will be a good mix, just like the andreasXX series. WordPress themes updated

All my Word Press themes have been updated to make sure that the excellent WordPress.com stats plugin can be used with the themes. There are also a number of other updates, mostly minor changes. Bigger updates will follow soon, when the new theme gallery of this site will launch on this page. The most notable update for today is that there are no links to other external sites in the themes any more, only the credit links to my website and to my WordPress theme page. My WordPress themes contain no sponsored links, and that should be clear to everyone now. Ok, here is another promise that you will have to wait for: The template page will be improved soon! (OK, that was a lame one…) I have written a note about it right on the page, where I explain what it will look like once I run the big update script for the site. Among the new features, the most requested thing will be add-ons. New images (LOTS of new headers and backgrounds!), additional CSS styles, modified CSS styles (for example, a 3-column version of andreas03) and user-submitted material. Want to contribute? Just let me know, I'll add everything that I like, and maybe even some stuff that I don't like. We'll see… And each template will get its own page on the site, so it will be easy to find the additional material for the template you want. Mom 50 years!

Today I'm celebrating that it is exactly 50 years since my mother Yvonne was born! It is a quiet and very peaceful celebration since she left this world seven years ago, but her birthday is still a day that means a lot to me. And with the recent celebrations for dad in mind, I felt that I wanted to do something in the memory of mom as well. I'm working on the final details of it now, and hopefully you can find it right here soon! Site design as a template

Many visitors are requesting the current design of this site in regular template format, and of course I will make it available not that I abandon the design myself. I am considering to make a WordPress theme version of it as well, since it is also a common request. But the customized theme version that I run on the site right now is not good at all, so I would have to build a new theme from scratch if I would provide a WP-theme version as well… I haven't decided what to do yet but I will probably release the template first, and if someone makes a good WordPress theme version of it within the first couple of days I can support that version rather than doing a theme version myself. If anyone would want to build an officially supported theme quickly, feel free to contact me to get the template version before the official release! Technorati authority

I have always liked Technorati, it has been a great site for keeping track of interesting topics and finding new bloggers. And it has been a great site to find sites that use my templates, since they are basically printed out in a nice list because of the incoming links to me. A year ago I wrote in this blog that I had reached the Technorati Popular Blogs chart, and I got as high as #31 on the chart before I was removed from it. Of course I don't belong there, since the incoming links are mostly credit links from sites that use my themes and templates. But I have still kept the incoming link number and the official Technorati rank, and I have now been ranked among the top 15 sites in the world for one year according to the Technorati rank. Since I am disqualified from the real chart, I haven't got more than a few new visitors from Technorati. But today I found out that they have renamed the incoming link count, and now they call it "Authority" - which means that ...

One week of changes

I have finally initiated the big "reboot week" project that I have failed to get through for way too long now. It will affect a lot of different things in my life, but the most obvious change for people who read this will be the new design and a new structure on my website. I've been waiting for the perfect time to get it all done, to get some new releases out and to launch the new design. That perfect time is here soon, in a few days to be a bit more exact. To be honest, I have had possibilities to do this major update for months, but I haven't had enough inspiration and motivation to go through the big refreshment process that is needed. I apologize for the long wait, and for not treating this site or you visitors better. I am the first person to say that it is a shame. But I am also the only person who can do something about it. Listen to the Indigo

The dream of an own Access Virus synth will finally come true! I couldn't afford that Virus TI Polar, but I found something that I actually wanted even more: The original Lagoona Indigo! Björn, who bought the synth when the first Virus Indigo model was introduced more than five years ago, was going to sell it on an Swedish auction site. Luckily I found it before anyone had reserved it, and I'm incredibly happy about that! This is what the beauty looks like: The original Virus Indigo was a limited deluxe edition based on the Virus KB engine. Only 500 examples of the synth were built, and only a few of those were sold in Sweden. Lagoona got number 485 of them, and the synth can be heard in many Lagoona songs from the year 2001 and forward. While it is not as advanced as the newer Indigo 2 and TI Polar models, it is still an amazing synth with an amazing sound. 10 years of free music

In a few weeks, it will be 10 years since I released my first own song on the Internet . And in a couple of months, I can celebrate that 10 years have passed since I released the first free MP3 track on the first website I ever had. That is a long time, and the music scene has changed dramatically during that time. When my band, TSEC (which later became Lagoona) released the first MP3 song, we could never have guessed that the MP3 format would have such an impact on the music industry. We realized that it would become popular because of the small file size and the good quality, and we spent a lot of time and energy on promoting ourselves as "MP3 artists" long before the first hardware MP3 players appeared. The WordPress themes debate

WordPress themes have become a major discussion topic recently, where the main threads have been sponsored links (and sponsored themes), credit link requirements, licensing options and usage rights. I have been tempted to write several long posts about this, but as you may have seen I haven't got much work done in the last couple of weeks. I'm back in good health again now, and will return to work next week. But for now I only want to make a few things clear about my own WordPress themes. Free to modify, no limitations or obligations! I have not defined any license for my themes since they are completely free in all senses. If I would have to put a license, the themes would go under the GPL. But I have never seen any need for that. Just as with my free website templates, my WordPress themes are completely free to use without any kind of limitation or obligation. Hoping for a golden night

In a few hours we will be back in Pontushallen in Luleå to see Plannja Basket play game 5 of the finals against 08 Stockholm! If Plannja win this game, they win the entire series again. We got the same kind of corner seats, right against a wall but on the right side of the TV view this time. But that doesn't matter, corner seats are many times better than nothing! Just as last time, the game will be broadcasted live on SVT24 at 17:00 (local time in Sweden). Updated: No, we didn't get to celebrate any gold today. We saw a good game that turned out to be extremely exciting and unpredictable, and it all came down to one final shot by Plannja in the last second of the game. If it would go in, the game would continue for overtime. But the ball bounced off the basket - and Plannja lost with a 3-point difference. They have two more chances to win the gold and even though I will not be able to see any of the other games live, I'm happy to have seen two great finals. Hopefully...
